Share is each operator's participant count as a fraction of the 9,376,280 identifiers across the ranked set, not of the whole directory. Uptime is our own multi-region probe reading over the trailing 30 days; 20 of the 20 listed operators have a resolvable host to probe so far. Method
How is Peppol market share measured?
By participant identifiers published through each operator's SMPs, counted from the Peppol directory export and from every SMP the SML lets us resolve. It measures hosted footprint. It is not invoice volume, revenue or customer count: nobody publishes those for the network as a whole, and a share derived from them would be an estimate wearing the clothes of a measurement.
One consequence worth stating plainly: an operator that hosts many small registrations outranks one that carries fewer, larger senders. Read the ranking as "who hosts the network's identifiers", and read the per-provider pages for what each one actually does.
Concentration
How concentrated is the Peppol market?
The five largest operators hold 44.4% of ranked identifiers and the 20 listed here hold 84.1%. Another 320 providers publish participants below this table. The market is concentrated at the top and very long in the tail, which is why a single "market leader" claim says less than the distribution does.

FAQ
Peppol provider market share: common questions
Which Peppol provider is the biggest?
Tickstar, with 1,079,396 participant identifiers published on the network — 11.5% of the ranked total, measured 20 Sept 2026, 19:30 UTC. Serensia is second with 991,227 identifiers (10.6%).
How is Peppol market share measured here?
By participant identifiers published through each operator's SMPs, counted from the Peppol directory export and from every SMP we resolve. It measures the footprint an operator hosts, not invoice volume, revenue or customer count — nobody publishes those, and a share derived from them would be an estimate rather than a measurement.
Is the biggest Peppol provider the most reliable one?
Not automatically. Size and uptime are separate readings, which is why this table carries both. 20 of the 20 providers listed have a measured 30-day uptime window; the rest have no probe-resolvable hostname yet, and are shown as not measured rather than as a perfect score.
How concentrated is the Peppol provider market?
The five largest operators hold 44.4% of ranked identifiers and the twenty listed here hold 84.1%. 340 providers publish participants in total, so the long tail is wide but thin.
How often is this Peppol provider ranking updated?
Hourly. The page is rebuilt from the free /v1/providers/public endpoint every hour, and the as-of stamp above the table is the API's own snapshot time, not the time the page was published.
